The Government provides funding for primary schools to spend on additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport they offer.
Malborough with South Huish Church of England Primary School recognises the contribution of PE to the health and wellbeing of all our children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, learning attitudes and academic achievement. We aim to foster an enjoyment of PE and a love of being “active” in all the children.
The Primary PE and Sport Premium enables us enable us to extend our provision by employing a PE Co-ordinator with sole responsibility for developing our PE provision across the school, accessing sports professionals both during and after the end of the school day, enhancing our extracurricular PE opportunities, hosting and entering competitive sports tournaments and training our staff to deliver quality PE sessions. We aim to increase the children’s activity rates throughout the school day.
