Malborough with South Huish C of E Primary School has a thriving and well-supported Parents, Teachers & Friends Association. They meet regularly a number of times each term to organise fundraising events. The meetings are relaxed, friendly sessions, when different ideas are discussed and events organised - around a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Everyone is welcome to come along to meetings - it is a very friendly group. There are many parents on the committee who help a lot, or just a little now and then, but the goal is always the same - to organise events which generate funds for the school. The PTFA hold a Christmas Fair in mid December, which takes place during school time and involves older children organising their own games and stalls alongside their parents. Sometimes the children provide musical entertainment and there is normally a Christmas Grotto, where children of all ages can meet Father Christmas. In the past two years the PTFA have held a Halloween disco, a Monster’s Ball, Royal Wedding and Jubilee Parties for all of the children and a sponsored walk for parents.

The PTFA also hold a summer Fair in the summer term which includes a very popular raffle! Funds raised, pay for the maintenance and servicing of the school swimming pool, the subsidizing of travel to and from events that are at a distance from our school and for the purchase of visiting artists/speakers/ practical activities during our theme weeks and to enhance other areas of the curriculum.

All of our children benefit from the hard work of the PTFA - do join and ensure that you help us enhance the quality of provision, in our lovely village primary school.
