It was lovely to welcome back Father Daniel who has been away on sabbatical.  Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent, a time for reflection.  Father Daniel explained that the palms from last year's Palm Sunday Service are burnt and the ash from this is used to make the sign of the cross on Christians' foreheads.
